3.9 billion. Not to be confused with the number of Democrats running for president, this is the number of fake accounts Facebook recently deleted from its platform. Zuck 'nem pointed out that 5% of all active monthly accounts were fake.

Most of the accounts were caught and removed by artificial intelligence, but Facebook also hired an extra 20,000 people to help clean up the social network. In addition to the billions of deleted accounts, 4 million hate posts were deleted, as well as 469,000 gun-related posts.

Most people would agree that this latest round of clean-ups was long overdue.
